(300MB/sec) data transfer rate!
The new transfer rate represents a doubling of the previous SATA 1.0 rate and rivals that of enterprise-class SCSI drives.

Why Serial ATA II 3Gb/s?
The newly approved SATA-II specification has standardized three important
features:
- 3.0 Gb/s (300 MB/s) interface data rate
- NCQ (native command queuing)
- Staggered (delayed) spin-up
The Hitachi SATA II hard drives provide all of these enhancements to enable
faster data access and better power management to the system. The drives are
also backward compatible for those wishing to upgrade their storage of SATA 1.0
systems.
The Deskstar SATA II drives all feature a single-chip, native SATA chipset and Native Command Queuing (NCQ), which enables faster data transfer rates for performance-based applications. (NCQ is a method of controlling commands sent from the host processor to the drive to enable faster application activities for the user.)
