FireWire Repeater / FireWire Active Extension Cable, 16 feet (5 meters)

The IEEE 1394 specification limits a single FireWire cable to 16 feet (5 meters), but you need to connect your FireWire cable peripherals over a longer distance.  No problem.

With this FireWire IEEE-1394 active extension cable, you can now extend your current cable another 5 meters! Ideal for any situation where your FireWire device needs to be placed some distance from your computer.

Works like any other extension cable: just plug the cable into the 6 pin FireWire port on your computer or hub and plug the FireWire device into the other end.

This IEEE 1394 Active Extension Cable is compatible with 1394-1994 standards and is fully interoperable with the FireWire implementation of the standard. Data transfer rates of up to 400Mbps are supported and you can use up to 5 active extension cables to extend the distance of your cable up to an additional 25 meters!
