Inexpensive SATA (Serial ATA) drives can be used in Hot-Swap Trays and as much storage as required can be dedicated for backup, DV, AV, database applications, and all other types of storage needs. To add more drives simply buy extra Hot-Swap trays as needed. 

Unique Aluminum Tray technology allows SATA drives to be inserted or removed while the computer is running and the power is on. The system operates very much like a floppy drive with the exception that the amount of storage is thousands of times larger.
